Tutoring built around Oklahoma classrooms.
Blackmon Tutoring serves Oklahoma students, from Oklahoma City to Tulsa. Every student is matched with a tutor based on subject, grade level, and learning style, then meets on a shared digital whiteboard.
Oklahoma families come to us for everything from elementary reading support to OSTP-aligned subject tutoring and SAT/ACT coaching for college-bound students.
Every tutor holds a bachelor's or master's degree, and many are certified classroom teachers. Several specialize in supporting students with dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning differences, in addition to standard subject tutoring and test prep.

What is OSTP?
The state assessment Oklahoma families ask us about most.
Oklahoma School Testing Program
The OSTP (Oklahoma School Testing Program) measures English language arts and math for grades 3-8, science at select grades, and U.S. History at the high school level. Results are reported on a scale from “novice” to “advanced” and help schools identify students who need extra support.
Oklahoma City and Tulsa families often use OSTP results from the spring to plan summer and fall tutoring, closing gaps before the next school year rather than waiting for the following spring's test.

What Oklahoma families should know about tutoring.
Straight answers to the questions we hear most before an Oklahoma family books their first session.
What is the OSTP, and why does it matter in Oklahoma?
The Oklahoma School Testing Program measures English language arts and math in grades 3-8, with science and U.S. History tested at select grades. Schools use OSTP results to identify students who need extra academic support.
What do the OSTP performance levels mean?
Scores are reported from novice through advanced. A novice or basic result is a signal worth acting on, especially heading into a grade where the material builds directly on the prior year's skills.
How does tutoring work for an Oklahoma student?
Your student meets their tutor on a shared digital whiteboard at a scheduled time each week, whether they're in Oklahoma City or Tulsa. Notes and practice problems are shared after each session.
When should test prep start before the SAT or ACT?
As a general guide, start SAT or ACT prep 12-16 weeks before a student's target test date, with weekly or twice-weekly sessions depending on the score gap and timeline.
