Tutoring for Chicago students.
Blackmon Tutoring serves Chicago students. Every student is matched with a tutor based on subject, grade level, and learning style, then meets on a shared digital whiteboard, the same process we use everywhere else in Illinois and across the country.
Chicago is Illinois's largest city and the third-largest city in the United States.
Every tutor holds a bachelor's or master's degree, and many are certified classroom teachers. Several specialize in supporting students with dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning differences, in addition to standard subject tutoring and test prep.

What is IAR & SAT?
The state assessment Chicago families ask us about most.
Illinois Assessment of Readiness
The IAR (Illinois Assessment of Readiness) tests English language arts and math for grades 3-8. In high school, Illinois uses the SAT, given free to all juniors during the school day, as its official state accountability test.
Champaign is home to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and because the SAT is also Illinois's state test, Chicago and Champaign families often start SAT prep earlier than families in states with a separate high school exam.
